Personal Mark of a Rurikid Ruler
OriginThe rulers of Rus used differing bident and trident dynastic marks on their coins and seals.
DescriptionA trident-shaped mark drawn in golden lines alone, with no background colour or shield. At the top of the central shaft sits a small square, and above it rests a hollow lozenge ornament. The left and right prongs are straight columns whose upper ends flare outward to points, and from inside them a hook-like curved line descends toward the centre, ending in a round tip. The three prongs are joined below by a horizontal bar with rounded ends, beneath which two diagonal lines meet in a V and lead into a cross with rounded ends.
