Flag Master Website — Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Flag Master website at flagmastergame.com. The Flag Master apps for iPhone and Android have their own privacy policy, shown inside each app. The website has no sign-up and no login.
1. What we never collect
The website does not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts or photos, and it never asks for your location.
2. Data kept in your browser
Your quiz progress and level, favourites, settings, language choice, Flag Points, mini-game records, a short list of recent in-game events and, if you chose one, your rankings nickname are stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. They are not sent to us. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes them.
3. Rankings (optional)
Nothing about you reaches the rankings until you accept a nickname. After that, each ranked round you finish is sent to be scored: an anonymous player ID created in your browser, your nickname, a country flag taken from your browser’s language setting (if it has a region), the colour and badge you chose for your row, your time, and the answers you gave with how long each took. Rounds are scored on the server so that scores cannot be faked. Your row is then shown to everyone who opens that board. The rankings run on Firebase, a Google service, which also receives your IP address. To have an entry deleted, write to the address in section 10.

4. Anthem playback (optional)
Tapping “Play anthem” streams the recording from the Internet Archive (archive.org), which receives your IP address, your browser identification and the name of the file requested. Nothing is requested until you tap the button.
5. Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
The website is free and is supported by advertising from Google AdSense.
• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings: https://adssettings.google.com — or opt out of some third-party vendors’ cookies at https://www.aboutads.info/choices (in Europe: https://www.youronlinechoices.eu).
• Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), a consent message asks for your choice before cookies are used for personalised ads, and non-personalised ads are shown if you decline.
• To protect advertisers from invalid clicks, the website notes in your browser when ads are clicked repeatedly in a short time and may then pause ads for a day. This record stays in your browser.

6. Hosting
The website is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it processes your IP address and the details of each request in order to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse. Fonts, flags and sounds are served from this site itself. The website does not use Google Analytics. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not track you across sites; it reports only totals such as page views, countries and loading speed.
7. Children
The website is an educational resource for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal data from children. It has no chat, no messaging and no user-supplied content other than an optional nickname.
8. Retention and deletion
Data in your browser stays until you clear it. Ranking entries stay on the ranking server until you ask for yours to be removed.
9. Third parties
Data is shared only with the services named in this policy: Google (Firebase and AdSense), the Internet Archive (anthems) and Cloudflare (hosting). Each receives only what its section describes.
