Arms of Vatican City State
OriginThe triple crown and the crossed gold and silver keys are the insignia of the papacy.
DescriptionAbove a red shield sits a silver triple crown banded with three gold bands, with a small cross at its top and white lappets bearing gold crosses hanging at either side. Below it, two keys cross diagonally, the silver key's bit pointing to the upper left and the gold key's to the upper right, the two tied together with gold and silver cords ending in tassels.
