Arms of the Kingdom of Portugal
OriginThe five small blue shields with silver roundels inside them and the castles on the red border are long-standing core elements of the Portuguese royal arms. The readings that link the five shields to the five kings of the Battle of Ourique or to the five wounds of Christ are traditions handed down in later times, and the number and arrangement of the shields and castles varied from dynasty to dynasty.
DescriptionA silver shield is placed in the middle of a red shield, with five small blue shields arranged on it in the shape of a cross, and each blue shield is marked with five silver roundels. Seven gold castles are ranged along the red border around the shield; above is a crown decorated with pearls and a red cap, on either side two green dragons grip the shield, and below hangs a gold chain with a red cross ornament.

The Cross of the Order of Aviz
OriginThe Aviz cross, a green fleur-de-lis cross on a white field, is the emblem that identifies the order.
DescriptionIt is a cross whose four arms end in split lily (fleur-de-lis) shapes, with inward-curling ornaments attached between the arms. The app image carries only the cross form as a single-colour silhouette, with no shield and no background.
